Fare weather friend
Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve heard of Farecast, a website for those of you who have a hard time deciding whether or not to buy that airplane ticket now, or to wait until we launch our Marines into Syria and gas prices go to $500 a gallon.
Farecast.com operates on some kind of complex algorithm (is there another kind?) which predicts whether or not airline tickets will go up or down in the future. So far, they’ve been 75% correct, according to an article I read in the New York Times, which I’m too lazy to track down and link. You’ll just have to trust me (farecast.com, please send my check to Boston).
While it seems like a cool novelty site, I’ll save you the suspense: buy that ticket now before we launch our Marines into Syria and gas prices to to $500 a gallon. You do know that planes run on gas, right, Mr. Cheney? Oh, right. Of course you do.
