Kurt Vonnegut, R.I.P.

“Hello, babies. Welcome to Earth. It’s hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It’s round and wet and crowded. At the outside, babies, you’ve got about a hundred years here. There’s only one rule that I know of, babies — ‘God damn it, you’ve got to be kind”

– from his novel, God Bless You, Mr. Rosewater

  1. “Beware of the man who works hard to learn something, learns it, and finds himself no wiser than before… He is full of murderous resentment of people who are ignorant without having come by their ignorance the hard way.”–Cat’s Cradle

Any contact with his words, is a good reminder to keep our own internal narrators in shape. Keep a good running commentary of the sad ridiculousness of the world.

  2. How many people would die if a gun is loaded and left on a stand in the center of New York city and NO human touched it for 100 years.

Oww yeah, It is very regulated for those of us that are law respecting individuals.

Liberalism is a disease and the 2nd amendment is the cure…along with common sense and individualism…

Save yourself before you start saving the world….

  3. Guns are easier to manufacture than synthetic recreational drugs that are illegal. Ecstasy and LSD are still available to kids in public schools despite the prohibition against them. Do you really think outlawing guns would be effective? It would leave those with respect for the law disarmed, while allowing anybody who so desired to remain armed. I do not think a typical gang banger has any respect for the law. The 2nd amendment has nothing to do with hunting or the national guard. Our right to own guns is a check against the government, ensuring that the power to resist an overbearing government or a foreign invader remains within the power of the people. Responsible gun ownership is more than a right, it is the duty of anybody who values their freedom. Buy a gun and learn to trust yourself with it. 🙂

  4. Do you know what Hitler, Stalin, Castro and Jonh-il have in common? They all disarmed their own citizens to prevent them from revolting once they realized the true nature of their leaders. Now lets say that guns are confiscated in america (and by some odd twist gun owners actually give them up without a fight.) and a few years later someone is elected who tells the people all they want to hear, but upon being sworn in reveals his true tyranic, totalitarian nature. Now, who’s going to remove him from power? Sure congress would throw a fit (maybe) but who is phyisically going to declare war on this individual and remove him from power? The police wouldn’t, they would obey their leader as they always do. The military wouldn’t; nutjob or not that’s their commander and cheif. The citizens can’t; they’re unarmed, because they were foolish and willingly gave up their guns without even attempting to keep and bear them by force. Now lets say this same individual comes to power, but the citizens are still armed. They grow increasingly angry and storm into washington, guns blazing and kill this leader and all who defend him. Freedom is restored because the people refused to give up their guns, and now a potential Hitler is dead.

Think about this hypothetical situation a bit anti gun people.
